Meme of The Day

Last Chance to Vote Early Is Today

Miami-Dade early voting wraps up Sunday, November 1, at 7 p.m. Voters can choose any of the county’s 28 early-voting sites. In our area, two options are Homestead Community Center at 1601 N. Krome Avenue and Naranja Branch Library at 14850 SW 280th Street. Bring an accepted form of identification with a photo and signature. Voting on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, works differently: you must go to your assigned precinct. And if you still have a vote-by-mail ballot, the county says you can return it to a staffed ballot intake station at an early-voting site during today’s hours. Check the county website for locations, wait times and your sample ballot before heading out.
The Berry Farm Is Open Late on Sunday

Fall fun is not finished just because Halloween is over. The Berry Farm’s Harvest Festival continues through November 15, and Sunday, November 1 is a special extended-hours date. The farm is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Visitors can explore its five-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, sunflower fields, farm attractions and hayrides. General admission is listed at $14 to $23, with food and certain extras sold separately. The farm is at 13720 SW 216th Street in the Redland. Tickets are final, and the festival runs rain or shine, so check conditions before you leave.
Pinecrest Farmers Market Is Back This Morning

Looking for a slower Sunday? Pinecrest Gardens hosts its farmers market from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You can browse locally grown produce, flowers, food and handmade goods from small vendors. The market also advertises a free community yoga class from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Find it at 11000 Red Road in Pinecrest. It is a simple stop for fresh groceries and a chance to support growers and small businesses from across South Florida.
A Free Talk on Family Stories Happens Today

We all have that one family story that sounds a little different depending on who tells it. Deering Estate is hosting “Discussing Facts and Family Lore” on Sunday, November 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. at its Visitor Center Theater. Genealogy expert Lorrie Chupina Martin will talk about using historical records to separate facts from family legends. The event is free, but an Eventbrite RSVP is required. The estate is at 16701 SW 72nd Avenue in Palmetto Bay. It is a useful afternoon outing for anyone curious about their family roots.
The Extra Hour of Sleep Comes With Earlier Sunsets

Daylight saving time ended at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 1. Clocks moved back one hour, and most phones adjusted automatically. Your stove, car and wall clocks might need a little help. Sunset will now arrive an hour earlier by the clock, so keep that in mind if you have an afternoon farm visit, a long drive or outdoor plans. The change is also a good reason to check outdoor lights and make sure your household clocks agree.
Seminole Theatre Tickets Go on Sale Monday

Planning a downtown Homestead night out? Tickets for Seminole Theatre’s 2027 Showcase Series go on sale Monday, November 2. The January-to-July lineup brings concerts, family performances and stage shows to the historic theater. We mentioned the season in Issue 116, so this is your reminder to review the schedule today and decide which shows you want before sales open tomorrow. The theater is at 18 N. Krome Avenue.
