Halloween Weekend Kickoff

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16–17 | 8 P.M. | SEMINOLE THEATRE, 18 N. KROME AVE. | TICKETS LISTED AT $26
A gothic classic gives downtown Homestead a proper spooky-season theater night. This production carries adult themes and violent situations, and the venue warns about theatrical fog, loud sound and strobe effects.
Good to know: A separate pre-show experience is listed for 7 p.m. at $38.44. Check current ticket availability before heading downtown.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 | 5–9 P.M. | LOSNER PARK, 104 N. KROME AVE. | FREE
Families can cover a lot of Halloween ground without leaving downtown. Fall Spooktacular includes pumpkin decorating, a scenic hayride, a not-so-scary trail, a clown-themed haunted maze, Trick-or-Treat Lane, food trucks, photo stops and live entertainment.
Good to know: The city's official calendar lists 5–9 p.m. Some third-party pages show different hours, so use the city listing.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 | CHECK-IN 4:30 P.M.; RUN 6 P.M. | EVELYN GREER PARK, 8200 SW 124TH ST. | $25 THROUGH OCT. 16; $30 EVENT DAY
This two-mile run turns Pinecrest streets into a family-friendly zombie escape. The event also lists a 40-foot zombie maze, photo booth, music and games, with costumes encouraged.
Good to know: Runners should confirm live registration and arrive early enough for check-in and the 5:45 p.m. warm-up.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 | 7:30–10:30 P.M. | EVERGLADES ALLIGATOR FARM, 40351 SW 192ND AVE. | $65 | AGES 18+
This one-night experience combines supervised alligator and snake encounters, a roughly 30-minute nighttime airboat ride and an immersive prison-break horror trail with live actors. Plan for about 80 to 90 minutes and arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled entry time.
Good to know: The experience includes darkness, fog, loud sound, sudden scares and uneven outdoor terrain. Tickets are limited, advance purchase is required and sales are final.
Pumpkin Patches and Farm Fun

OCTOBER 17–31 | SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS, 10 A.M.–2 P.M. | 13401 SW 224TH ST. | $15 AGES 1+
Younger children can pair the pumpkin patch with animal interactions, a hay maze, play field, photo stops and the butterfly garden. Pumpkins and local goods cost extra, and pony rides are listed at $3 for children 54 inches and under.
Good to know: The entrance is off 222nd Street. The farm says admission may be purchased online or at the farm, but check the calendar before driving over.
THROUGH NOVEMBER 8 | THU.–FRI. 2–7 P.M.; SAT.–SUN. 9 A.M.–7 P.M. | 14890 SW 216TH ST. | $18.69–$33.64
Admission includes the pumpkin patch, corn maze, boat and tractor rides, race track, petting zoo, bounce pad, fall photo areas and pony rides for eligible children. Tickets are required for ages 2 and older.
Good to know: Animal encounters close at 6 p.m. The lower early-entry price requires check-in between 9 and 10 a.m.; arriving later means paying the difference.
THROUGH NOVEMBER 15 | 13720 SW 216TH ST. | TICKET PRICES VARY
The Harvest Festival fills 40 acres with a pumpkin patch, Miami's five-acre corn maze, hayrides, sunflowers, farm animals, shaded play areas and seasonal food. It is the strongest option for families who want enough activities to make the drive a half-day plan.
Good to know: General hours are Monday–Thursday 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Friday and Sunday 9 a.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Festival hours may extend on selected dates.
For Adults Who Just Want a Pumpkin and a Drink
Pinto's Farm also lists Pumpkins & Pints from 6–9 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. The $13.40 ticket includes one small or medium pumpkin and access to the brewery area, but it does not include the farm's rides or attractions and cannot be redeemed before 6 p.m.
Trick or Treats and Family Events

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 | 5–9 P.M. | EVELYN GREER PARK, 8200 SW 124TH ST. | FREE
Trick-or-treating starts around the park track at 5 p.m., followed by Zootopia 2 on the lawn at 7:30 p.m. This is an easy two-part plan for families who want candy first and a calmer finish afterward.
Good to know: Bring blankets or lawn chairs for the movie. Arrive early for the candy loop and a better lawn spot.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 | 6–10 P.M. | PINECREST GARDENS, 11000 RED ROAD | $75 | AGES 4–9
Pumpkins & Potions gives children a supervised night of science, art, flashlight exploration, nocturnal animals and STEAM activities while parents take an evening off. Dinner and access to the garden's amenities are included.
Good to know: This is a drop-off program with limited capacity, so confirm registration before promising anyone a grown-up night out.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23–24 | 6–10 P.M. | GOLD CREST RAILROAD MUSEUM | VIP OPTIONS AVAILABLE
Spooky Adventures: Monsters Unleashed takes over the rails with kids' activities, photo stations, tarot card readers, aerial silk performances, face painting and more.
Good to know: VIP options are listed. Check the event post for ticket prices, the address and what each option includes before you go.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 | 5–9 P.M. | CUTLER BAY | FINAL LOCATION AND ADMISSION DETAILS PENDING
Cutler Bay has placed its Halloween Spooktacular on the calendar, but the town still says more information is coming. Keep it on the list if you live in northern South Dade, and check the official page before making the drive.
Good to know: The town's special-events page also identifies a golf-cart parade as part of the Oct 24, 2026 celebration.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 | 4–9 P.M. | EXIT ONE TAPROOM | HOMESTEAD | FAMILY FRIENDLY
The Yoga Fairy Fitness is hosting a haunted market with local vendors, roaming scare actors, tarot readings, energy cleansings, tattoo flash, a costume contest, raffles, a live DJ and performances that include fire and belly dance. Many of the vendors are sponsoring giveaways, with prizes that include art by published illustrator Brian Reedy, a free yoga class, a pilates class, a massage and desserts.
Good to know: The night raises money for To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) and supports breast cancer awareness. Admission and the street address weren't provided, so check with the organizer before you go.
Community Help Before Halloween
Branches Florida City plans Pumpkin Palooza & Alternaween for Friday, Oct 30, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. for children and families it serves. The organization lists opportunities to donate costumes and candy or help with trick-or-treating, games and activities. See the Branches partnership guide before offering supplies or volunteer help.
Scares After Dark
South Dade's strongest confirmed scare is Gatorween on Oct 17, 2026, and it is strictly for adults. Frankenstein offers a seated theater alternative on Oct 16, 2026 and 17 for readers who prefer gothic atmosphere without walking a dark outdoor trail.
Choose by intensity: Losner Park is the all-ages option, Frankenstein is the theatrical option, and Gatorween is the full horror option with live actors, wildlife and uneven terrain.
A Note About Decorated Homes
We will add publicized South Dade yard displays when owners confirm that visitors are welcome. Stay on public sidewalks or clearly marked paths, supervise children, keep hands off decorations and be considerate of neighbors. Hours can change with rain, so check the owner's public post before driving over.
Halloween Day

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 | 10 A.M.–5 P.M. | FRUIT & SPICE PARK, 24801 SW 187TH AVE. | REGULAR PARK ADMISSION
Boo in Bloom is the relaxed daytime option: explore the tropical gardens in costume, pick up a free seed pack while supplies last and enter the costume contest at 2 p.m. It is a good fit for families that want Halloween pictures and outdoor time without waiting until dark.
Good to know: The event listing gives regular park hours. Confirm current admission and weather status with the park before leaving.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30–31 | THE BERRY FARM, 13720 SW 216TH ST. | INCLUDED WITH HARVEST FESTIVAL ADMISSION
Costumes, candy, family activities and a family-friendly movie join the regular Harvest Festival lineup for Halloween weekend. That means the pumpkin patch, corn maze and farm attractions can carry the daytime while the seasonal programming keeps the visit going.
Good to know: The farm says complete details are available on its site. Check the selected date's hours and ticket inventory before going.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 | 8 P.M. | SIMMONS BAR, 35 N. FLAGLER AVE. | FREE ENTRY | 21+
Homestead's Ultimate Halloween Costume Party brings live rock bands, an outdoor DJ, dancing, karaoke, games, food trucks, drink specials and an outdoor bar. Guests who come in costume can win prizes. It's presented by That Guy Sy and Queen of the Scene.
Good to know: Entry is 21+ only, but the flyer says parents without a babysitter can bring kids through the trunk-or-treat drive-thru. Parking is free, and the party runs late.
Halloween Night Tips & Essentials 🎃
A little preparation goes a long way. Whether you're heading to a pumpkin patch, trunk-or-treat, or trick-or-treating around the neighborhood, keep these tips in mind:
Stay visible: Use reflective details, glow sticks, or small lights, especially after dark.
Keep costumes safe: Make sure costumes don't drag on the ground or get caught in bike wheels.
Check the candy: Have an adult inspect treats before younger children dig in.
Beat the South Florida heat: Bring water and choose comfortable, breathable costumes.
Watch for traffic: Take extra care around driveways, parking lots, and neighborhood intersections.

After Halloween
The pumpkin fun does not disappear at midnight. Pinto's Farm continues through Nov 8, 2026, and The Berry Farm's Harvest Festival continues through Nov 15, 2026. Those later dates can be easier for families who want the farm experience without squeezing it into Halloween weekend.
Give the Pumpkin a Better Ending
Before tossing an undecorated pumpkin, ask local farms or community gardens whether they are accepting clean pumpkins for compost or animal feed. Remove candles, wax, paint, glitter, toothpicks and plastic first. Do not leave pumpkins at a farm without permission.
