Passport Service Moved to Naranja While South Dade Regional Is Closed

If a passport errand is on your list, don’t head to South Dade Regional Library right now. The regional branch remains closed during its roughly year-and-a-half interior renovation that began in May 2025, and U.S. Passport Application Services are temporarily operating from Naranja Branch Library. That means Homestead, Princeton, Naranja and Leisure City households can avoid a wasted trip north. The renovation will add study rooms, privacy pods, a second auditorium, upgraded Wi-Fi, a new passport office, a teen technology space, a sensory-friendly room and an adoptable-cat lounge. While the larger building is unavailable, Naranja also offers drive-up Wi-Fi, mobile printing and a medium meeting room. Before leaving home, check passport appointment rules, required documents, fees and current hours, and remember that library borrowers can also use Homestead, Naranja, Coral Reef or Palmetto Bay branches and the system’s digital collection.
