Fast Lane Friday Returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway

If your idea of Friday night involves considerably more horsepower, Homestead-Miami Speedway has you covered.
Fast Lane Friday returns tonight from 6 p.m. to midnight, giving drivers a legal place to drag race their own street-legal vehicles instead of taking that competition onto public roads. Spectators can come out and watch, too.
Drivers must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. The Speedway says tickets are sold online, and kids 12 and younger can attend free.

$35M Construction Loan Closes for Casa Princeton Rental Community

A major housing project just north of Homestead is getting a financial boost. Berkadia has arranged a $35 million construction loan for Phase III of Casa Princeton, a 374-unit rental community in Princeton.
The financing will help move the project toward completion as Princeton continues to experience significant residential growth. The area along and around the US-1 corridor has seen a steady stream of new housing projects in recent years, bringing more homes and residents to communities between Homestead and Miami.
For locals, Casa Princeton is another development worth watching as South Dade continues to grow and questions around housing, traffic, schools and infrastructure remain part of the larger conversation.

City Developing a Long-Term Transportation Master Plan

Homestead's Public Works Department is developing a comprehensive Transportation Master Plan, a multi-year roadmap for how the city handles mobility going forward, from road design to transit access to bike and pedestrian infrastructure. Residents are being invited to weigh in as the plan takes shape, which matters given how much construction is already underway around the city, from the Krome Avenue upgrades to the proposed Turnpike/US 1 interchange redesign. It's a chance to influence how those individual projects fit into a bigger picture rather than reacting to them one at a time.
