City and Police Union Begin Contract Negotiations Today

The City of Homestead and the Police Benevolent Association begin contract negotiations today at City Hall.
The talks will focus on the employment agreement covering Homestead police officers, including issues such as pay, benefits and working conditions. Negotiations can take several meetings before both sides reach an agreement.
Why does this matter to residents? The final contract can affect the city's budget as well as Homestead's ability to recruit and retain police officers.
We'll keep an eye on the negotiations as they move forward.
📍 Where: Homestead City Hall, Main Conference Room #335, 100 Civic Court

Cozy Greens & More Serves Up a Healthier Side of Homestead

Business Spotlight
If you're looking for breakfast or lunch that leans a little healthier, Cozy Greens & More is one local spot worth knowing.
Owners Rochelle and her husband opened the downtown Homestead restaurant in 2024, bringing decades of food-service experience with them. The menu focuses on organic, low-sodium and lower-fat choices while still offering plenty of variety.
You'll find everything from muesli bowls, tropical tuna tartare and the colorful Power Beets salad to jerk chicken sandwiches and, when you're ready to treat yourself, Nutella waffles.
For an area known for plenty of great Cuban and Caribbean food, Cozy Greens & More offers something a little different: a neighborhood spot built around fresh, wellness-focused choices.
