Parents deserve to know when a serious safety concern is reported at a local childcare center. A teacher at a Homestead-area Lincoln-Martí location was arrested and charged with child abuse without great bodily harm after an arrest report accused her of lifting a 2-year-old by the wrist and shaking him while holding his neck and face during a tantrum. Authorities said the child had a mark on his neck and bruising on his cheek. Lincoln-Martí said the director reviewed surveillance footage, removed and terminated the employee, notified the family and reported the incident to authorities. The charge remains an allegation unless proven in court.
